About the Role

BICO is seeking a commercially driven Associate Sales Manager / Sales Manager to support the continued growth of our portfolio across Southeast Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

This role will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing strategic customer relationships, supporting channel partners, and driving revenue growth across BICO's portfolio of life science, diagnostics, laboratory automation, and advanced research technologies.

The successful candidate will engage customers across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, contract research organizations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), healthcare institutions, and academic research organizations. The position offers significant exposure to regional markets and the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive new business development activities across Southeast Asia and Australia/New Zealand.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert sales opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, laboratory automation, and research markets.
  • Develop and execute territory plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive customer engagement and prospecting activities.
  • Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and business cases to support customer acquisition.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators.

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, including principal investigators, laboratory managers, department heads, scientific leaders, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop strategic accounts with high growth potential.
  • Establish long-term partnerships with customers to support business expansion.
  • Drive cross-selling opportunities across the broader BICO portfolio where appropriate.

Technical Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, demonstrations, and customer evaluations.
  • Understand customer workflows and align solutions with scientific, operational, and commercial requirements.
  • Support application discussions, feasibility assessments, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Coordinate with internal product specialists, application scientists, service teams, and business unit leaders to ensure successful customer outcomes.
  • Represent BICO at conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and customer events.

Channel Partner Development

  • Support the recruitment, development, and management of distributors and channel partners across the region.
  • Conduct distributor training and joint customer visits.
  • Drive channel partner engagement, accountability, and business growth.
  • Support business planning, forecasting, and opportunity development with channel partners.

Sales Operations & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within CRM systems.
  • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline reviews, and business planning activities.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback to management and business units.
  • Support regional commercial initiatives and strategic growth programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Diagnostics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) is advantageous but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful commercial experience in life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, laboratory automation, analytical instrumentation, medical technology, or related scientific industries.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development, strategic account management, and revenue growth.
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and build customer relationships.
  • Experience working with distributors and channel partners across Asia Pacific is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following markets:
    • Diagnostics and IVD
    • Biotechnology
    • Laboratory automation
    • Drug discovery
    • Genomics and proteomics
    • Cell biology and translational research
    • Life science instrumentation
    • Advanced manufacturing and precision dispensing technologies
