Position Summary

The Associate Quality Assurance Engineer supports the delivery of high‑quality software by executing manual and automated tests, collaborating closely with development teams, and continuously improving testing processes. This role performs both black‑box and white‑box testing to validate functionality, reliability, and system behavior. The Associate QA Engineer is expected to adapt quickly to new technologies, contribute to modern QA transformations including AI‑assisted testing approaches, and step in to perform detailed manual testing when automation is not feasible or appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability

  • Participate in black‑box and white‑box testing activities, including test design informed by code structure, logic, and system behavior

  • Develop, modify, and execute software test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts under guidance from senior QA or engineering staff

  • Analyze test results, document defects clearly, and verify fixes to ensure existing functionality is preserved

  • Maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, execution results, and defect records, to support debugging and product evolution

  • Work closely with development engineers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve software issues early in the development lifecycle

  • Provide feedback on system behavior and testability to support continuous improvement in software design and implementation

  • Contribute to QA process improvements, including exploration and adoption of AI‑assisted testing tools, test optimization techniques, and modern automation frameworks

  • Adapt testing approaches as technologies evolve, including new programming languages, platforms, architectures, or development methodologies

  • Demonstrate readiness to perform fully manual testing when required, such as exploratory testing, regression validation, or validation of complex workflows

  • Support quality integration of software into broader systems involving computation, data acquisition, and data processing

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • • 0 - 1 year of relevant SQA work experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle

  • Experience with C and/or C++ and/or C#

  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows

  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Working knowledge of computer operation and principles of computer hardware

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven projects or applying AI tools to improve workflows, automation, or process efficiency

  • Strong programming skills in C#, with ability to support development, testing, or automation tasks as needed
