QA Analysts are analytical champions for quality focused on testing extensively to ensure a holistic understanding of Riot’s projects. They create test plans and evaluate both the functional and subjective caliber of projects for a Riotous development team. As every project is different, they listen and improve, to put the players and their team first, and to solve ambiguous and complex problems. As an Associate QA Engineer on the Game Analysis Team you will focus on validation testing of upcoming gameplay experiences for VALORANT. You will work directly with developers to play in, plan, and evaluate playtests. Your peers are passionate gamers that love theorycrafting, discussing, and solving multiplayer games. You will report into a Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:- Provide evidence-based feedback to show whether upcoming changes accomplish their specific goals (or not)
- Manage risk assessments for unreleased content based on playtest data
- Support defining objectives and finding conclusions from playtests
- Manage test plans for future tests and defects uncovered during playtests
- Take detailed direction to complete required tasks
- Have ranked Radiant in VALORANT in the past two years
- Experienced in effective VALORANT team communication during ranked play
- Experienced in competitive VALORANT strategy and team set ups
- Can fluently speak to VALORANT gameplay (map awareness, crosshair placement, eco management, etc)
- High-level understanding of micro and macro decisions required to optimize VALORANT gameplay
- Experience working with a team in a professional setting
- Competitive experience with additional FPS games
- Ability to assess teammate skill levels and provide appropriate guidance
- Ability to check player pulse and identify root cause for player enjoyment and frustration
- 1+ years Software Quality Assurance experience
