Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Process Industries division based in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Work on end-to-end DCS projects comprising of scope of Automation systems for Metals/Pulp & Paper/Mining/Cement sectors.

  • Support project engineers/leads in execution of projects by following the engineering & commissioning workflow as per QMS defined. 

  • Work on Preparation/approval of basic engineering drawings like SLD, GA, IGA, fabrication drawings etc.,

  • Work closely with cross function/ LBU teams to achieve customer acceptance.

  • Work on application control software, necessary graphics & get the Factory acceptance test conducted successfully for own area of responsibility. Get the Engineering Quality Index audits are carried out for his/her area of work. 

  • Work on HMI migration projects.  Be part of commissioning team- Installation supervision of automation panels, I/O checks, individual equipment trials, cold trials, Hot integrated trials, baby sitting during ramp-up of production, technical hand over.

  • AMC visits and attending service calls for automation systems as and when required- Capturing customer complaints and timely solution.

  •  Ensure that as-built and as commissioned documents are submitted in time as per the schedule.

  • Basic knowledge on tools like ACAD, ePlan, eBase is an added advantage.

  • Updating reusable solutions, work-around and problems handled into database
     

Qualifications for the role :

  • Minimum B.Tech/ B.E/ Diploma from a reputed University with First Class in Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electrical & Electronics engineering.

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in Automation systems & controls with relevant process experience in Cement /Mining /Metals /Pulp & Pape

  • Should have fair knowledge in Automation systems for manufacturing industries. It is desirable to have experience in handling automation system engineering & commissioning for process industries like Metals/Pulp & Paper/cement/mining. 

  • Should have good knowledge in automation systems- Knowledge of DCS/ PLC HW/SW Components

  •  Knowledge of IT/ Network/ Peripherals like UPS, Printer, PC’s, Server components of DCS
    •    Knowledge in field devices/instruments
    •    Knowledge in low voltage switchgears-PCCs & MCC

  • Should have experience in handling site works like installation, I/O Checks, panel testing & power on checks, system architecture set-up, individual equipment trials & integrated cold trials.

  •  knowledge in application programming & HMI development/ modifications for PLC/ DCS systems for processes like Cement/Mining/Metals/Pulp & Paper.

  • Knowledge on different protocols used between PLC & Drives or in automation

Skills Required

  • B.Tech/B.E/Diploma in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Electrical & Electronics (First Class)
