The opportunity:

You will be a part of the GIS Steel Structure Engineering team, you will be supporting the project engineers / project lead engineers to develop project specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customer and the documents required for manufacturing of Steel Structures for GIS (transmission and sub-transmission systems). You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. You may also interact with other departments like Primary Engineering, Secondary engineering, Project Management and Production units.

How you’ll make an impact

• Preparation of drawings and documents for customer submission as well as production for Gas Insulated Switchgears above 66kV.

• The 3D models, GA drawings, assembly drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings and to check the feasibility of structures in line with design calculations.

• Ensure all necessary inputs are available from stakeholders.

• Prepare project specific civil plan for customer providing GIS loading for design of customer building floor, celling cranes etc., Influence of environmental conditions on GIS structure designs etc.

• Support sales / Tender team by providing technical specifications of GIS support structures.

• Ordering of materials in SAP system

• Self-review & peer review of documents. D

• Delivery of designs on time with Quality

• Coordinating with the other team members and project lead engineer

• Directly responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects as per quality process.

• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• years of experience: 2 – 4 years with B.E / Diploma in Civil Engineering

• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards applicable for structure design.

• Expertise in STAAD is mandatory for the role of APE-Structure Engineer and expertise in TEKLA is mandatory for the role of APE- Tekla Design Engineering

• Basic knowledge of HV substation

• Knowledge of international standards such as IEC / ANSI, seismic zones and impact

• Knowledge of HV substation / HV products -preferable

• Team player

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Hand on experience in 3D tools like TEKLA, CREO, design tools such STAAD Pro or other structural design tools

• Knowledge of painting procedures

• Use of SAP for engineering interface with SCM is preferred.
