Supports power system proposal development by reviewing customer RFQs, evaluating bid decisions, creating work statements, preliminary designs, responsibility matrices, risk assessments, cash flow estimates, and project schedules. Collaborates with customers, engineering teams, and contracts personnel to develop complete solutions and finalize terms. Performs assigned work under supervision while meeting scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. Requires domestic and international travel of at least 25%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system proposals.

2. Assist teams that support customers with the review customer RFQ documents for technical specifications and scope, evaluate bid/no bid decisions, develop work statement, preliminary designs, responsibility matrix, risk assessment, cash flow and preliminary project schedules, develop good understanding of SEL’s complete ES portfolio and use it effectively to develop complete solutions and work with contracts to finalize terms and conditions, both on-site and from SEL offices.

3. Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.

4. Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.

5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

6. Understand. Create. Simplify.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline

Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions

Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems)

Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate

Work experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction
