This role is part of Blue Origin Operations and directly supports manufacturing execution by ensuring material readiness, kit accuracy, inventory visibility, and production flow alignment for space vehicle systems.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and forward-thinking individual who will apply technical aptitude and planning discipline to ensure the shop is prepared, stocked, and ready to execute at the start of each production cycle. Passion for safe, reliable spaceflight and operational excellence is required.

Shifts: B | Mon-Thurs (3:30pm-1:30Am)

The Associate – Production is responsible for gathering, organizing, staging, and verifying material kits required for weekly and daily production execution. This role also owns shop-level material tracking and inventory monitoring to prevent production interruptions.

This individual will work cross-functionally with planning, supply chain, and production teams to ensure complete, accurate, and on-time kit availability while proactively identifying and escalating material shortages.

This role directly impacts schedule adherence, technician efficiency, and first-pass yield by eliminating material-related delays.

• Gather, organize, and stage production kits to support weekly and daily build plans.

• Verify kit completeness against inventory systems, BOMs, and engineering requirements.

• Track shop-level material inventory quantities and monitor consumption trends.

• Identify low-stock or at-risk materials and proactively escalate to planning and supply chain teams.

• Ensure no production start occurs without confirmed material readiness.

• Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams to resolve shortages, discrepancies, or incorrect material.

• Ensure the shop is fully staged and production-ready at the beginning of each week.

• Participate in weekly production planning and readiness reviews.

• Maintain accurate tracking of kit status, shortages, and inventory gaps.

• Support 5S activities and maintain organized, audit-ready staging areas.

• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on material flow, accuracy, and execution efficiency.

• Assist in eliminating FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and maintaining disciplined shop standards.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Experience in production support, material coordination, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.

• Experience supporting or participating in weekly production planning activities.

• Ability to interpret work instructions, BOMs, and material requirements lists.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Basic computer proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP experience preferred).

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.

• Must be willing to work extended hours, overtime, or weekends as required.

• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Planning, or related field.

• Technical planning or supply chain experience.

• Experience in a team-based lean manufacturing environment.

• Continuous improvement mindset.

• Intense curiosity for understanding business details and operational optimization.

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification preferred.

• Experience supporting high-rate production environments.

• Experience with inventory systems, ERP/MRP platforms, or material planning tools.

• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
