In training to learn all aspects of swine production and management all assigned contract swine units. Ultimately will be responsible for financial and production performance as well as property and personnel management.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Learns, demonstrates capability/knowledge and becomes certified in all farm department areas including fulfilling all the requirements and responsibilities in wean to finish production.
Gains a solid understanding of and ability to implement company systems such as pig production processes, animal flow, farm health, genetics, husbandry, etc.
Works as a team player in the accomplishment of daily work requirements and farm goals.
Develops and establishes rapport/relationships with all personnel and management.
Develops and prepares required reports on experiences encountered and addresses/shares opportunities for improvement.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by management according to standards.
Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield LLC subscribes.
Complete Standardized Training and Assessment Program.
Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties.
Report all environmental, animal care, and biosecurity issues immediately to their supervisor.
WHAT WE’RE SEEKING:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Animal Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Company will consider a currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current school year as qualified.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project
Must have valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company policy.
Must be able to work an average 45 hour week with an average 9 hour workday, which can vary frequently.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
Must be on call to work in emergency situations to include but not limited to, power outages or personnel shortages.
Be on call to work in emergency situations such as alarm calls, inclement weather, power outages, personnel shortages, and environmental emergencies.
Ability to utilize math to calculate performance for production and financial performance and to make decisions based on those calculations.
Verbal and written communication skills to included making presentations to groups of various size
