The Role

Role/Department Description:

The Research Solutions SBU is focused on innovating the foundation of FactSet’s product offering. By marrying robust content, intuitive applications, and innovative technology, we defend and grow our footprint across several key user classes including investment banking, sell-side research, buy-side research, private equity, portfolio managers, traders, capital markets, investor relations, and media. This SBU contains Core Applications (Office Integration, Universal Screening, Company & Security Analytics, Industry and Markets, Filings, Ownership, Research, News, Charting) and our industry leading RMS suite. The SBU closely partners with the Content and Platform Horizontals on strategy for FactSet Web, Mobile, and much of FactSet’s content offering.

As a member of the product development team, understanding users’ ever-changing needs comes first. The mission of the department is to deliver innovative, world-class solutions by collaborating with clients to understand their needs and with internal teams to bring our solutions to market. You will remain highly attuned to what's going on in the financial industry, as well as to what our clients need in order to do their jobs effectively. As a result, you’ll naturally emerge as among FactSet's most highly respected specialists and thought leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering Product Inquiries. Respond to questions posed through RPD (Request for Product Development) and quickly provide relevant information to stakeholders regarding the products you manage.
  • Troubleshooting Resolution. Coordinate efforts to address and resolve technical problems within the products.
  • Write clear and concise specs to keep support materials updated for product launches as directed by the team.
  • Act as the liaison between development teams, leading meetings, facilitating discussions, and assisting with debugging.
  • Product Communication. Keep stakeholders constantly informed about product developments, goals, and progress to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Develop test scenarios that align with end-user requirements, ensuring coverage beyond just implementation areas. Focus on full end-to-end testing for product features.
  • Facilitate functional and regression User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of applications. Stay up-to-date with tools and practices driving testing towards Continuous Delivery, incorporating automation to reduce manual testing.
  • Organize test coverage walkthroughs with Engineering on new, modified, or obsolete test plans. Promote the migration from traditional test plans to user stories and use cases.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively create new test cases to ensure comprehensive testing across all product functionalities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned products, including system architecture, client workflows, historical failures, and known deficiencies.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or other relevant fields
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and ability to come up with creative solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Deep interest in the Finance and/or the Fintech industry
  • Advance knowledge of Excel and other tools such as Sharepoint and Powerpoint
