Role Purpose

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for completing tasks supporting new development and performance enhancements for a specific product (s) as directed by the product manager. The position involves coordinating among tactical analysts, developers, and functional subject matter experts from all regions to create global product solutions for Operations, Strategy & Implementation customers/stakeholders across multiple channels. They are responsible for completing deliverables supporting the end to end product life cycle from idea inception through development and launch, leveraging specialists, operators, and stakeholders along the way. They participate along with the product manager in developing, scheduling and maintaining a product "roadmap". They develop & document business requirements and works directly with the development team to ensure technical requirements support the spirit and intent of the business requirements. They handle system configuration changes, adjustments & troubleshooting as directed by the product manager. They will maintain a log of all trouble tickets as well as enhancement requests including resolutions & key decisions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaisons with the regional teams and global product team to develop and document business requirements for product enhancements. Includes working directly with the vendor and or internal IHG development team to ensure technical requirements meet the spirit and intent of the business requirements.
  • Complete configuration changes and system updates as directed by the product manager. Design and conduct UAT.
  • Provide direct support to regional administrators as needed and in extreme cases directly to end-users for software and/or hardware related questions. Documents all such support requests and outcomes. Maintain written documentation of trouble tickets and enhancement requests including requirements and any key business decisions. Provides status updates to regional stakeholders and internal product team.
  • Liaisons and communicates with regions, face to face, by phone and in written format as needed to ensure regional needs are being met in a timely and satisfactory fashion.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education -

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Business, Information Systems, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienced. PMP, Six Sigma, Lean Certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Experience -

4 to 5 years progressive work-related experience, including 3 years experience in product management, product development, project management, marketing or operations, with demonstrated travel or hospitality industry experience and understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.

Technical skills & Knowledge -

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to meet timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience and basic understanding of relational databases required.
  • Demonstrated experience and basic understanding of internet browsers required.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to present new concepts, research findings, and business outcomes to various groups including corporate clients, senior management, potential vendors, and industry consultants.
  • Demonstrated project management experience from initiation through implementation.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/clients required.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to perform research and use the results of analysis to make effective strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated hotel industry knowledge reflecting the entire customer experience lifecycle (reservations - stay - ongoing relationship management).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of travel distribution channels (web, CRO, gds, or tpi) and reservations sales "building blocks" a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt tactics and strategies to fast moving, rapidly evolving marketplace required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use prototyping or simulation in product creation.
  • Experience in formal requirements methodologies such as vision, scope, context, use cases, etc. preferred.

The salary range for this role is $46,226 to $93,060. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

**This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
