Wheelbase Pro is an all-in-one fleet management software designed for professional rental businesses. As part of the Outdoorsy Group, we provide a complete suite of rental management tools that help thousands of professional rental companies across the globe streamline operations, boost online sales, and save time. Our platform integrates seamlessly with Outdoorsy marketplace, allowing rental businesses to receive external leads without additional effort. While we started in the RV space, our platform is product-agnostic and we're actively expanding into the auto rental market. The Pro Division focuses on serving enterprise-level fleet operators with specialized tools and features designed for managing multiple vehicles and complex rental operations.
About the Role
We are seeking an Associate Product Manager to join our Pro Division product team in Austin. In this role, you will help shape the future of Wheelbase Pro by identifying the needs of professional fleet operators, defining product requirements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features that solve complex business challenges. You'll be collaborating with engineering, design, implementation managers, customer success, and sales teams to ensure our product remains the industry leader in professional fleet management software. This role will have a special focus on features and improvements that serve our enterprise clients managing multiple vehicles and locations across various vehicle types, including RVs and automobiles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feature Development: Assist in the complete product development lifecycle from conception through launch, working directly with the Head of Product to define requirements and priorities
  • Project Management: Lead sprint planning sessions, maintain product backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of features by coordinating cross-functional resources and removing blockers
  • User Research: Conduct customer interviews and analyze feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for product improvement
  • Market Analysis: Research industry trends and competitor offerings to help inform product strategy
  • Data Analysis: Use tools like Mixpanel to analyze feature usage, track key metrics, and make data-informed product decisions
  • A/B Testing: Design and analyze experiments using tools like Optimizely to validate hypotheses and optimize user experiences
  • Documentation: Create and maintain product documentation including specs, user stories, and release notes in Jira and Confluence
  • Technical Collaboration: Work effectively with engineering teams using Jira to track development progress, prioritize bugs, and manage feature releases
  • Design Partnership: Collaborate with designers using Figma to create intuitive user experiences and interfaces that solve customer problems
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, and other departments to ensure successful execution of product roadmap
  • Customer Support: Collaborate with customer-facing teams to gather feedback and address product-related questions or issues
  • Product Testing: Participate in QA testing to ensure features meet quality standards before release
  • Status Reporting: Create and distribute regular project status reports using Google Suite tools to keep stakeholders informed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1-3 years of product management experience or related product-focused roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Basic understanding of software development processes
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Proficiency with Google Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven decision-making approach
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in SaaS or B2B software environments
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Experience with analytics tools (Mixpanel or similar)
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms (Optimizely or similar)
  • Design tool experience (Figma)
  • Knowledge of payment processing platforms (Stripe)
  • Understanding of vehicle rental industries (RV, auto, or similar)
  • Experience with user research or UX design principles
  • Basic technical knowledge (SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
