Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Associate Product Manager will be responsible for interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that proper prioritization of products includes the highest value scenarios and delivers solutions to meet the market need. This role will support the Product team in functioning as the voice of the customer and will bring qualitative and quantitative data sets to the team to support prioritization between and within product development. In addition, this role will support multiple product management team members and roadmap initiatives.
Responsibilities

  • Understand customer, partner, and internal group drivers to identify and scope products and priorities that improve customer satisfaction, business performance, and user experience.
  • Ensure that product offerings meet performance expectations for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
  • Use judgment, subject matter expertise, and proven methodologies to minimize and mitigate risk throughout development.
  • Monitor specifications of products and participate in user acceptance testing.
  • Research the competitive landscape, including deep dives into key competitors, and read shifts in customer preferences to inform product development, messaging, and positioning.
  • Use customer feedback, market insights, and metrics to identify trends across multiple customer segments and influence internal stakeholders and partners on product decisions.
  • Write product requirements and support prioritization meetings.
  • Create, update, and manage ISBN and Salesforce submissions based on approved business strategy.
  • Interact with the Curriculum Development, Implementation Success, Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure success across Go to Market activities for each new product, featured launch, and iteration of existing products.
  • Support senior-level product management team members in executing strategic initiatives, taking ownership within those initiatives to be an empowered problem-solver.


Job requirements
Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience working in education publishing with a track record of success in product development, digital product management, curriculum development and/or project management, preferably in the K-12 education market
  • Experience in K-12 edtech, with proficiency in practices such as Agile and human-centered design
  • Experience in an editorial or media environment with an understanding of the challenges unique to the transformation of print materials to a digital format
  • Deep respect for and alignment to the philosophy, instructional design, and pedagogy of Great Minds' knowledge-building vision
  • Ability to navigate the Great Minds climate, where leadership often drives product vision and roadmap decisions
  • The ability to develop stakeholder management skills, including customers, sales team, content development teams, software engineers, and senior leadership that will require a sophisticated level of sensitivity and excellent judgment
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills to anticipate challenges, issues, or opportunities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with others to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • The ability to think about ROI, strategic pricing, and the potential value of ideas to help the team prioritize where and how to spend limited resources
  • Ability to synthesize market, customer, and cross-organizational needs for teams, particularly teams new to product mindset, digital development, and revenue-driven decision-making
  • Strong organizational habits necessary for successful goal setting, project management, collective decision making, deadline execution, and record keeping
  • Capacity to receive and then apply external and internal content feedback from advisors, senior leadership, consultants, and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in an all-remote working environment, demonstrating an ability to adapt to a variety of individual communication styles and needs
  • The ability to use applications and collaboration tools such as Atlassian JIRA/Confluence, MS Office 365 and Google suite
  • Ability to remain flexible in an ambiguous, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

The expected base salary range for this position is $63,000-$75,000, however the offered salarymay be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
