POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Associate Product Manager supports product management efforts through research, coordination, and execution. You will be involved across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through to launch and post-launch enhancements, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital products. 

This is a 12 month Fixed Term contract (parental leave cover).

Hybrid Role - One day per week in our Gold Coase Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with design and development teams to define product requirements and specifications. 
  • Conduct market research and user interviews to gather insights and inform product decisions. 
  • Assist in creating product roadmaps and prioritise features based on user needs and business goals. 
  • Support the development team during the implementation phase, ensuring timely delivery of product features. 
  • Following the direction of the Product Manager, coordinate with product development teams to realise product concepts and bring them to market including writing stories and acceptance criteria, working with designers and engineers to refine stories, and performing user acceptance testing. 
  • Partner across product teams to ensure successful implementation of platform-level features. 
  • Promote a culture of autonomy, transparency, and teamwork, while remaining customer focused. 
  • Translate product features into customer benefits and work with marketing to develop messaging and positioning for our sales organisation and internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Build positive relationships and trust through on-time delivery, high quality, continuous innovation, and exceeding expectations. 
  • Track results, provide insights, and make recommendations to improve customer experience, efficiencies, and ROI. 
  • Work closely with Sales, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure product strategies are aligned. 

Requirements

Essential 

  • Formal qualification in Product Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 0–2 years of commercial experience in a product, technology, or related environment. 
  • Customer-oriented and solution-focused mindset. 
  • Solid understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies. 
  • High empathy demonstrated through active listening, a thorough grasp of customer needs, and an ability to build rapport quickly. 
  • Strong focus on execution with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with a variety of audiences across the organisation. 
  • Flexible team-player who can partner with all functions of the business and gain stakeholder buy-in with ease. 
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised, able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. 
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Basecamp, Slack, or similar. 

Desirable 

  • Experience working in a school or EdTech environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; or a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with relevant industry experience. 
  • Experience with stakeholder management and working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Track record of delivering customer-centric, value-driven digital products.
