The Associate Product Cost Analyst is responsible for managing product costs, determining gift pricing, and supporting target margin objectives across the business. This role partners closely with Product Development, Product Design, Sourcing, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost analysis, maintain product cost integrity, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage raw material and component costs to support accurate gift pricing and target margin achievement.
- Establish and communicate target cost goals to Product Designers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain cost integrity within Centric PLM by accurately capturing component costs, labor, freight, accruals, and other cost elements.
- Monitor cost trends and identify components with significant cost increases, partnering with appropriate teams to investigate and resolve variances.
- Analyze sales volumes by customer, category, and retail price point to ensure gift records are established using appropriate quantity assumptions.
- Collaborate with the Costing Line Review team to ensure all product costs are entered accurately and within required timelines.
- Partner with Product Development to recommend and implement product modifications that reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies between PLM and Baan Bills of Material (BOMs) for Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) products and route issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Track and maintain Purchase Order (PO) status reports for the DTC business.
- Support Product Development activities by:
- Creating and maintaining gift records.
- Building and updating Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Creating new components.
- Routing component workflows through the appropriate approval processes.
- Assist with ad hoc cost analyses, reporting, and cross-functional projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and proactively resolve issues.
- Resourceful and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience with ERP, PLM, or product costing systems (such as Centric or Baan) is a plus.
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
