Job Location:

Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology. There are around 600 employees currently working in Columbus, NE.  We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area.

Job Summary:

Under only general direction, primary objective is to provide support to the assigned product line including but not limited to production, purchasing, sales, marketing, customer, research and development, product and process improvement, etc.  May perform engineering of specific products from design inception to finished product within generally established engineering and manufacturing parameters.

What you will be doing:

• Production support of assigned product line.

• Customer support including 8D corrective actions, product design, specifications, quotes, materials, manufacturing controls design, testing, and engineering production responsibility for one or several routine to moderately complex projects.

• Performs or directs Technicians in evaluation of materials and processes to be used in any project design or second source. 

• Fabricates or directs technicians in the fabrication of prototype models for test purposes. 

• Redesigns any components as necessary following test procedures to meet performance specifications.

• Closely examines production methods, materials, and facilities, constantly seeking out areas of improvement, and initiates any necessary action with vendors and internal Vishay departments to bring about identified product improvement. 

• Investigates production and process problems and takes necessary action to bring about practical and effective solutions.

• Regularly works with marketing colleagues/ customers regarding product design, specifications, quotes, materials, manufacturing capabilities and corrective actions

What you will bring along:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required

• Two years’ experience in manufacturing environment

• A high level of mechanical aptitude and ability to translate design ideas to useable specifications is required.

• Possess strong analytic and statistic skills along with the ability to work independently.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
