The main focus of the Central Strategy and Insights team is to identify and explain trends associated with key metrics that align with business growth and development opportunities. We strive to build a robust reporting process around core KPIs and are razor-focused on key metrics that drive decisions made by Airbnb’s most senior leaders. This role will be responsible for partnering with the business on growth, analytics, and strategy within the Strategic Finance & Analytics organization and is highly cross-functional.

We are looking for an individual who is proactive and excited to seek out data-backed solutions for projects related to key metrics reporting, with a focus on executive presentations, Excel modeling, automation of data pipelines, and serving as a trusted cross-functional collaborator. We’re looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, who can understand drivers that are important to a rapidly shifting business environment and who can effectively communicate complex business insights to a wide audience.
A Typical Day:
- Define metrics and manage performance: collaborate with cross functional partners across multiple teams to identify trends associated with key metrics that align with business drivers. Partners come from a wide range of teams including marketing, hosting, product, payments, and finance, just to name a few.
- Lead bi-weekly business reviews to share performance updates and drive strategic focus based on latest data. The audience for these business reviews include our CFO, CBO, Global Head of Operations, and other senior leaders.
- Provide additional support during monthly and quarterly financial review cycles.
- Work alongside a cross-functional team of Strategic Finance leaders, Data Scientists, and Tech Analysts to help define the scope, vision, and roadmap for company-wide metrics at Airbnb.
- Help build and maintain models that forecast topline metrics at a regional and country-level granularity.
- Provide actionable insights through reporting and analytics. This individual seeks out opportunities to iterate on existing processes to achieve higher measures of accuracy, efficiency, speed, and accessibility.
Your Expertise:
- 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, product analytics, management consulting, or investment banking.
- Proficient in Excel/Gsheet modeling skills, including macros, charts, and advanced formula creation (e.g., index match, vlookup, iferror).
- Strong SQL and PowerPoint/Gslides skills.
- Familiarity with Tableau is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work and influence cross-functionally; proactive in communication with diverse audiences and skilled at bringing stakeholders on board. Proven track record of driving change and impact in fluid, unstructured environments.
- Capable of navigating dynamic settings and solving complex problems while exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Enthusiastic about learning and growth, demonstrating proactivity with a mission-driven approach.
- Committed to effective teamwork, maintaining a positive and solution-oriented outlook.
