We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with 3+ years of experience in payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, investigating discrepancies, and collaborating with leadership on payroll strategy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel is required. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of federal laws and payroll practices, experience with multi-state tax, and an FPC certification. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. 

 

Expectations for the Role: 

  • Review timecards for accuracy, tax setup, and garnishments. 

  • Research discrepancies payroll information and/or documentation. 

  • Answer managers' questions regarding payroll-related items. 

  • Perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas. 

  • Handle special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. 

  • Collaborate closely with leadership on payroll strategy to deliver best-in-class payroll solutions. 

  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and implement various tax changes. 

  • Support strategic and cross-functional projects, including evaluating current processes and suggesting improvements and efficiencies. 

  • Approve and assist with any escalated wages, overtime payments, and payroll deductions issues. 

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. 

  • Investigate any FTO/PTO variances and collaborate with HR for verification of eligibility as needed. 

  • Approve manual checks cut outside of normal pay cycles. 

  • Oversee holiday time processing and approve eligibility. 

 

What you should bring 

  • Comprehensive understanding of federal laws and payroll practices. 

  • Experience with multi-state tax is necessary. 

  • Multi state payroll processing experience. 

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software, specifically Excel. 

  • Proficiency with Workday is a benefit. 

  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

  • 401K:Bridge Investment Group will match your contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to 6% of your pay. These contributions are fully vested immediately. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled at a 4% contribution rate. *The employee must be at least 21 years of age and have worked for the Company for at least 60 days.
  • Paid Time Off: Employee will accrue 5.23 hours of paid time off per pay period for a total of 17 days per year.
  • 11 Paid Holidays per year.
  • Following six (6) months of employment at the Company, you will be eligible per birth, adoption or placement of a child for four (4) weeks of paid parental leave as the primary caregiver to the child or two weeks of paid parental leave as the secondary caregiver to the child. Following two years of employment at the Company, you will be eligible for twelve weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption, or placement of a child if you are the primary caregiver of the child.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,000 per year of pre-approved tuition expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of approved documentation. Repayment obligations may apply if employment terminates prior to 24 months.
