PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position will require weekend work, holiday rotation and on-call rotation. The position is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving critical infrastructure issues 24 hours per day 7 days a week. These systems and components include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring network switches, routers, wireless controllers/access points via Extreme Cloud IQ, Aruba, SevOne, Spectrum and Clearpass
  • Monitoring data center security and environmentals via JACE and Genetec
  • Monitoring enterprise storage/backup solutions via EMC and PPDM
  • Monitoring physical server infrastructure via Oneview
  • Monitoring VMWare server infrastructure via Aria Operations, and HP Oneview and Nagios
  • Monitoring of multiple cloud environments via Nagios and Aria Operations
  • Monitoring and maintaining CMDB, incident, problem, change and vulnerability management via ServiceNOW.
  • Monitoring and maintaining vulnerability/patch management via SCCM
  • Monitoring and maintaining SSL certificate issues/renewals via Digicert
  • Monitoring and maintaining monthly infrastructure patch cycles via SCCM
  • Coordinating and executing disaster recovery exercises during planned outages and emergency outages

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and operate control consoles of computer systems, network, facilities, and all attached peripheral equipment. Uses tools that subject matter experts recommend aiding with incident or problem management.
  • Optimizes system utilization by adjusting system resources to meet Service Level Agreements. Intermediate remediation and consult with SME to modify system resources to meet performance or availability goals.
  • Detects, analyzes and resolves routine computer production processing incidents / events. Advanced events, incidents, problems and consulting with engineers/subject matter experts for complicated situations.
  • Detects, troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves system alerts and incidents. Expert troubleshooting skills and able to address system alerts and customer incidents.  Engage/consult with appropriate expert to receive guidance on additional troubleshooting or remediation steps. Create knowledge articles and provide education/turnover to other NOC caregivers.  
  • Coordinates and assists in execution of planned scheduled outages for disaster recovery testing. Acts as a point person for the NOC when performing disaster recovery procedures during unplanned outages.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities for the continuing professional development enabling increased understanding of the various Christiana Care functions and how new information technology can be applied at Christiana Care. Uses critical infrastructure technology components and key systems to create development plan while engaging engineers/system experts as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Interacts with team members and executives/management in a friendly, supportive and timely manner. Proactive in communicating trends for awareness and action. Actively participates in major incidents providing valuable troubleshooting and analysis from various monitoring tools.
  • Keeps abreast of all key critical technologies and educates caregivers within the team looking for opportunities for improvement.
  • Learns and applies the internal workings of computer system to the automation tools to effectively manage system resources, operations and processes across multiple platforms. Identify opportunities to create automation to reduce manual intervention for repeat operational work items.
  • Monitors system performance and capacities, making recommendations toward optimizing system productivity. Investigates basic problems, malfunctions, and errors using all available expertise and assistance to determine corrective measures in a timely fashion to maintain a viable production environment. Respond to alarms using all available tools and resources to identify performance and capacity trends to eliminate incidents or problems.
  • Provides basic technical assistance, support, and turnover training to maintain operational readiness. Provide on-site assistance to engineers and application owners as needed.
  • Addresses outdated and incorrect procedures and processes. Use trend information to make recommendations to experts and engineers, while ensuring procedures are updated.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or experience consistent with the Network Operation Analyst job responsibilities. 
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in Information Services.
  • Should be functioning without close supervision within a nine-month period.

Hourly Pay Range: $32.77 - $52.43This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
