Associate Metallurgist – Technology
Primary Responsibilities for the Associate Metallurgist – Technology
- Entry level position to learn basic company processes, alloys, and customers.
- Develop skills which will enable provision of a range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals.
- Demonstrates the understanding of how to properly make disposition of non-conforming and off-standard material.
- Supports team efforts with supervision.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required for the Associate Metallurgist – Technology
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field required.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience required.
- Business/Functional Expertise: Applies knowledge; has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in a function.
- Project Management: Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals within scope of basic knowledge and skills within own function. Has no formal role in managing projects.
- Financial Management: May be aware of costs related to own work.
- Fundamental knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods and practices.
- Developing ability to be accountable for subsets of project deliverables.
- Developing knowledge of metallurgical and production equipment, and of statistical methods, six sigma and/or BPI practices.
