JOB MISSION:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and highly collaborative individual to join our global brand marketing team at New Balance. We're seeking an individual who excels at crafting compelling narratives and has a deep passion for sports culture. This person will aim to bring to life unique cultural stories around our football club partners, delving deeply into authentic and real stories and telling them in a uniquely New Balance way. This person should be experienced and skilled at managing relationships with a variety of partners and team members as well as being a strong critical thinker. We’re looking for someone with a strong sense of and interest in style and how to style product connected to stories in a way that represents our brand.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Fan Culture

  • Working with the Marketing Manager to deliver our approach to our annual partner club Global Marketing campaigns, forming a global viewpoint which will also be adopted on a Regional and Local level.
  • Developing and managing our annual kit campaigns with two of our global club partners to build stories around each club, developing a deep understanding of club and fan culture. Establishing and maintaining deeply collaborative relationships with regional marketers to ensure global and regional alignment on the stories being told and seek opportunities for regional amplification.
  • Working with the team to deliver the photoshoots connected to our global football clubs, working with them to plan shoot timelines, content capture and deliver launch toolkits to regions.
  • Responsible for providing regional markets with Global direction and guidance for producing annual kit campaigns for regional clubs, working with regional partners to approve and provide feedback on regional concepts.
  • Working with key media partners / agency partners as part of this work to manage concept ideation, content capture and distribution strategy.
  • Management of our licensed apparel product photography for all clubs across the season. Working with the team intern to secure all product, brief agencies and deliver all content per the seasonal deadlines.

Category Styling

  • Manage the styling for all NB Football photoshoots across football players (of any level of the game) and clubs. Manage the direction of marketing product for all photoshoots, working with the Sports Marketing team, Global Product teams, Ambassador Activation and our junior Marketing support to ensure correct sizing and ranges are delivered.
  • Provide a clear calendar and direction to the Marketing Intern to build a plan around product required for player and club shoots from a global perspective, supporting where regions need help.

Specialty Retail Support

  • Working with Regional marketers to develop and deliver annual plans with Football Specialty Retailers, ensuring plans focus on delivering against brand guidelines and commercial goals.
  • Facilitate Regional access to New Balance Football players for specialty retail activations, ensuring that access requests align to Global Football positioning.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Experience in a similar marketing role
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in marketing / business / writing / sport related subjects
  • Adept and creative storyteller who prioritises authenticity in bringing to life unique stories around real people and communities.
  • A strong passion for working with a diverse range of people from varying cultures.
  • Strong relationship management, development and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for football and sporting culture.
  • Obsessive attention to detail on styling product with a keen eye for style and what products work well in different environments.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Collaborative and proactive outlook and willingness to take on new projects and support in the delivery of projects across the team.
  • Interest in following trends in football, sport, lifestyle and social media marketing.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (on a monthly basis).
  • Willingness to work flexibly beyond the normal 9-5, with sport culture being an area where many things happen outside of those hours.
