What We Need

This is a strong growth position with 2K Asia, publisher of AAA Blockbuster PC/Console franchises such as Borderlands, Civilization, and NBA 2K. The role will be given a chance to promote AAA titles of 2K to Japan through building and operating 2K's social media channels to expand 2K’s brand reach and supporting the team members in other areas of marketing across the 2K portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of Japan’s gaming landscape, who stays current with local marketing trends and has hands-on experience in community engagement, social media, influencer marketing, or a combination of these areas.

Social Media & Community Operation 

  • Plan and manage 2K Japan’s social media strategy in line with global and title-specific brand directions, ensuring local relevance.
  • Create an integrated monthly plan with KPIs and actionable steps to meet annual goals
  • Work with an agency to execute a resource-efficient strategy including content updates, planning, events, and amplification.
  • Align community initiatives with brand strategy through cross-functional collaboration.

Data-Driven Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze key community engagement metrics, content performance, and social sentiment trends.
  • Identify and explain spikes, downturns, and shifts in player engagement, using both data and experience-driven intuition.
  • Connect key activations (e.g., influencer campaigns, content drops, in-game events) to measurable community responses.

Social Listening & Sentiment Analysis

  • Monitor discussions across gaming forums, social media, and other digital platforms.
  • Integrated VOC (Voice of Customer) reporting on player sentiment, emerging trends, and potential risks or opportunities including key social media trend and actionable recommendations. 

Assisting Marketing Execution Support 

  • Provide marketing execution support to the team based on the practice experience of gaming market, online community, PR and influencer market landscape 

Key to success in this role:

  • 3 to 8  years of relevant experience in the marketing, PR and/or Social industry in gaming, contents and entertainment marketing.
  • Exposure in planning and executing against Marketing and Communications strategies to meet company objectives
  • Strong analytical skills in interpreting social data, identifying trends, and linking activations to performance through data-driven insights and industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese gaming community, social media trends,influencer landscape, and Japanese entertainment subcultures (anime, manga, cosplay, Pixiv, NicoNico, etc.).
  • Familiarity with console gaming marketing (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple teams.
  • Native Japanese, Fluent/Business English (written and spoken)
  • An experience in operating social media platforms appreciated 
  • Social mavens and community leaders, a plus.
