Job Description:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Desktop Hardware and Software Systems Management:

  • Ensures requirements and SLA are met regarding in administration and installation of all the company’s workstation hardware and software systems which include: voice equipment, LAN/Hub ports, voice and data LAN cabling, PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, facsimile machines, etc. including associated operating systems and application software. 
  • Ensures that change management procedures are always observed at all times for all changes in the workstation systems hardware and software installation and configuration.
  • Leads and refines an establish process to track and monitor PC deployment, movement and transfer

Performance Management;

  • Ensures requirements and SLA are met regarding monitoring of performance/status of workstation hardware and software systems and ensuring that performance/service level targets are met.
  • Conducts regular audits to computer systems and implement improvements

Problem Management:

  • Ensures requirements are met regarding efficient and timely resolution (isolation and analysis, management and coordination & escalation) of all workstation hardware and software problems and downtimes.
  • Leads team responsible for providing technical support by resolving basic second level (Tier2) IT computer systems problems within the agreed upon service level agreement
  • Coordination with internal and external clients in accordance with agreed escalation processes.
  • Provide day-to-day operational reporting in terms of number of CTAF tickets resolved, number of computers units that break down, and inventory of spare computers and other components
  • Oversees team in providing assistance in LAN troubleshooting and correction of frequent LAN connectivity fault problem

Resource Planning and Management;

  • Inventory management
  • Monitoring and generation of current resource utilization 
  • Leads desktop hardware and software are capacities and scaled to handle current utilization and projected growth.
  • Conceptualize desktop hardware/software upgrades.
  • Design and implementation of desktop operating system structure and domains as coordinated with the Systems Administrator.
  • Preparation of necessary reports and documentation of all workstation hardware and software performance and related management procedures.

Project Management:

  • Ensures current computers systems meets requirement of clients, users, headcount and operation guidelines
  • Installation, configuration, testing and upgrade of Operating systems, and business suite applications and utilities
  • In-charge of coordinating and implementing IT related projects
  • Assist other supervisors in designating, scheduling and allocating technical support to support a given project
  • Resolve any controllable technical issues that impact project objectives
  • Preparation/configuration of newly acquired personal computer and peripherals

People Management:

  • Will act as a Technical / Desktop lead with the responsibility of supervising and guiding a team of desktop support personnel
  • Oversees effective monitoring of task progress within the desktop support team
  • Help others with both technical and telecoms related issues when they arise
  • Identify problems with the desktop support team, both technical and administrative, and seek solutions effectively
  • Delegating and following up on actions assigned to team members
  • In-charge of evaluating performance of the outsourced desktop support team, coordinate with the outsourcing vendor with regards to any concern relating to the service, manpower requirement and staff performance

Security Management.;

  • Monitor and report security breaches
  • Ensure that company’s systems are structurally sound to withstand current and future internal and external security threats
  • Implement and monitor adherence of users to security policies and procedures
  • Generation of security management reports

General Safety and Security

  • Protects the organization’s assets by upholding the principles of the Quality Information Security Management System (QISMS).
  • Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information critical to fulfilling the organization’s business functions.
