The RoleIn this role, associate manager will design and deliver Emerson DGM control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Working from our Cluj-Napoca office and from company and customer sites across Europe as required, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation transmission and distribution industries.Your Impact- Lead customer project meetings to determine project requirements, then lead the design, planning, integration, testing and commissioning of hardware and software requirements on customer systems. Provide networking and system/application design.
- Act as the lead to provide technical sales support of state-of-the-art power systems applications for real-time control systems, including sales presentations and product demonstrations. Provide advanced technical customer support and assistance per contract maintenance and warranty. Lead the creation of training materials and project documentation.
- Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements through customer communication and communicate the requirements to other departments as necessary.
- Oversee multiple engineers and be responsible for the success of your team’s projects.
- Provide a technical escalation point for the team.
- Provide networking and system/application design.
- Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration, and testing for projects.
- Customize system, hardware and network configuration based on customer requirements.
- Provide customer support and assistance per contract maintenance and warranty.
- Assist in creating training materials and project documentation as needed.
- Assist and guide your engineers on the delivery process and where they fit into it.
- Develop training for the Project Engineering group.
- Develop and train external partners to better ensure internal alignment at Emerson DGM.
- Work with your team to plan and maintain updates to tools, processes, and procedures necessary for successful conversions.
- Manage and respond to escalation requests from Project Teams.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and collaborate with technical experts in various domains.
- Investigate and develop approaches to solve new data transformation challenges.
- Periodically travel to customer sites and work directly with customers plan, deliver, and test developed solutions.
- Support the engineering manager in hiring process for your team and ensuring it remains staffed up to support project needs.
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in supervising a team or leading cross-functional projects.
- Experience in computer programming; C, C#, and Python preferred.
- Experienence with flat file formats such as CSV, XML, JSON.
- Familiarity using Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, RDBMS) and NoSQL (mongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Familiarity with the concepts of REST based web services.
- Strong work ethic including willingness to learn and investigate new technologies and problems.
- Technical understanding of networking and security, operating systems, virtual environments, and systems integration.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable with a customer facing role.

- Expertise in any of the following areas: electric utility operations, control systems, automation, client/server applications, APIs, web services, network communications, operating systems, algorithms, SQL and other database technologies.
