About the Role

The TM – Associate Manager, Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution and performance of the account while serving as a key onsite operational partner to the customer. This role ensures transportation solutions are accurately maintained and operate efficiently through consistent adherence to standard work processes.

This position is 100% onsite at our customer’s facility in Columbus, IN. As an embedded member of the customer’s operation, the Associate Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of site priorities and operational needs, and partner closely with both the customer and internal Uber Freight teams to drive service, performance, and continuous improvement.

Success in this position requires strong people leadership, relationship-building, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to navigate a fast-paced customer environment and balance competing operational priorities.

What the Candidate Will Do
  • Serve as a key onsite operational partner to the customer, building trusted relationships with site leadership and key stakeholders while developing a strong understanding of the customer’s business, priorities, and operational needs
  • Lead the day-to-day execution and performance of the account, ensuring the team consistently meets customer service expectations and operational goals
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve issues related to process, cost, service, and profitability while implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner closely with customer stakeholders and internal Uber Freight teams to identify opportunities, address operational challenges, and drive solutions that support the customer’s business
  • Lead conflict resolution and complex problem-solving efforts, including customer and operational escalations
  • Train, coach, and develop direct reports through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, mentoring, and ongoing feedback
  • Monitor team performance and hold the team accountable for key job responsibilities, KPIs, and service expectations
  • Develop and distribute customer-facing reports and internal performance management reporting, using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and update the Transportation Management System (TMS), including rates, SRG, OCA, FAM, SPT, and related configurations
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, carriers, customer contacts, and other external partners through professional, proactive, and timely communication
  • Leverage expertise in transportation modes, rates, weights, volumes, pallets, and customer-specific shipping requirements to support effective operational decision-making
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or a related operations environment
  • 1+ years of leadership experience, including leading people, coaching or training employees, or supervising operations
  • Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders in an operational environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at the customer facility in Columbus, IN
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of transportation or logistics experience
  • Previous experience working in an onsite, embedded, or dedicated customer account environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with Tableau or other reporting/dashboard tools
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience developing KPIs and operational reporting
  • Experience coaching and developing employees
  • Cross-functional leadership experience
