The Prudential Retirement Strategies (PRS) Controllers team is responsible for the reporting and analysis of key business measures as well as providing support and analysis in the generation of externally reported financial information for both GAAP and Statutory results. The team is also responsible for providing analysis to the PFI CFO, Head of IR and Corporate Controller, as well as the development and presentation of the quarterly Results Review Packages.

The PRS team is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Associate Manager, Financial Reporting to support the Institutional Retirement business with financial reporting and analysis on both a GAAP and Statutory results basis, including the development of management reports.

What you can expect:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting results in accordance with GAAP and STAT standards and support the development of the quarterly Results Review Packages for actuals.

  • Analyze trends and variances across the different line items of the business segment income statements and balance sheets.

  • Support the preparation and analysis of SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings.

  • Facilitate quarterly and annual audits by both internal and external auditors.

  • Contribute to the successful execution of new strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and ad-hoc projects.

  • Help drive continuous enhancements and efficiencies in processes.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.

  • 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting, and analysis experience.

  • Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames and to work overtime during peak periods.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • CPA or MBA

  • Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Oracle BI, Essbase/SmartView, & other financial statement applications)

  • Knowledge of insurance products and accounting

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $92,400.00 to $137,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
