Associate Manager Data Engineering

Job Description:

Database Administration

• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server (2014–2022) on Windows platforms

• Manage standalone and clustered SQL Server instances

• Perform database provisioning, patching, and version upgrades

Performance & Monitoring

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues using DMVs, Query Store, and execution plans

• Optimize queries, indexes, and maintenance plans

• Manage capacity planning and disk space growth

Backup, Recovery & HA/DR

• Design and manage backup and restore strategies

• Perform regular restore testing

• Configure and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions:

  • Always On Availability Groups

  • Failover Cluster Instances

  • Log Shipping / Replication

Security & Compliance

• Implement SQL Server security best practices

• Manage logins, users, roles, and permissions

• Integrate SQL Server with Active Directory

• Support audits and compliance requirements

Operations & Support

• Support 24x7 production environments

• Handle incidents, service requests, and problem management

• Participate in change management, RCA, and DR drills

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and AD teams

Automation & Documentation

• Automate routine DBA tasks using T-SQL / PowerShell

• Maintain SOPs, KT documents, and operational runbooks

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server

• Advanced T-SQL knowledge

• Hands-on experience with performance tuning

• Knowledge of SQL Server internals and architecture

• Experience with SSMS, SQL Agent, Query Store

Tools & Technologies (Good to Have)

• PowerShell scripting

• Azure SQL / SQL Managed Instance

• Monitoring tools
