This role is an Operations and Change Management leader fully responsible for the deployment of Manufacturing Excellence at the site. The focus of this role is program coordination, execution, and governance of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

The Associate Manager, CI is accountable to support the site leadership teams to:

  • Complete Zero Loss Diagnostics with year-on-year glide path targets
  • Deliver required operational improvements to achieve safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and cost savings
  • Work collaboratively to build and sustain a high-performing culture
  • Build and Lead site glide path, KPIs, and report outs
  • Promote and drive site priorities by utilizing the Manufacturing Excellence principles and Lean/TPM tools.
  • Drive/Support site strategic plan for continuous improvement through elimination of waste.
  • Build Manufacturing Excellence capabilities into the organization and promote loss management capabilities and ownership into the front-line teams
    • Coach front line manufacturing members, functional leaders, and site leadership members on process implementation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Site Master plan including:
    • Maintaining and executing against a 3-year roadmap and master plan inclusive of Zero Loss Diagnostic outputs
    • Leading manufacturing plants to identify losses beyond the walls of the factory by identifying and implementing opportunities to positively impact total end-to-end supply chain
    • Lead Loss Tree Analysis work and drive focus against site top losses
    • Coach and drive site Reliability Improvement Plans in the plants for loss reduction and cost savings using the Manufacturing Excellence principles
  • Build site capabilities as the ambassador of the Manufacturing Excellence program
    • Developing methodology to clearly identify plant losses and link MAN EX/Lean work to directly reduce those losses
    • Coaching and mentoring employees and site Leadership team
    • Ensuring all employees understand the MAN EX methodology and the benefits of applying tools / processes with a specific and clear purpose
    • Integrating site approach with Global Lean Leadership methodologies
  • Manufacturing Performance Systems
    • Integrate MPS / Performance Drivers with MAN Ex
    • Establish and maintain excellence in daily, weekly and monthly routines
    • Drive PPIs as the inputs to the KPI outputs
    • Deliver against established KPIs and ensure reapplication of best practice in the region and globally
  • Manage site data analysis and identify areas of opportunity
    • Ensure robust tracking and reporting of opportunities and results
    • Maintain site loss tree analysis
    • Own site throughput metric and work with Planning and Finance to deliver results
  • Lead both direct and cross functional teams to identify and implement improvements in service of delivering KPIs
    • Lead and coach Site Kaizens and Loss Teams as needed
  • Drive total end to end cost savings projects
    • Lead and coordinator of Cost Savings projects for the site

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated production leadership in roles of increased responsibility developing direct reports.
  • Experienced in the implementation of TPM/Lean applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess strong leadership, people skills, and communication abilities. Experience leading Loss reduction teams and skill building
  • Demonstrated capability in garnering support from others and negotiating to create win-win outcomes

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Experience leading cross functionally and in a matrix environment preferred
  • Six Sigma, Black Belt, Autonomous Production Team, Kaizen or Loss Team Certification
  • Technical diploma or degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing with focus on continuous improvement, cost savings and lean initiatives

This role is performed on site with infrequent requirement to travel
