Our Major Client Group (MCG) division (also known as Corporate Bank elsewhere) is designed specifically to look after our largest and most complex customers who typically have debt requirements in excess of $50m and/or turnover in excess of $150m. Our customers operate a diverse range of businesses (across the retail, wholesale, manufacturing and/or transport sectors) and include both private and public companies (including some of Australia’s Top 500 listed companies) as well as companies which are owned by private equity firms.

Are you currently working in finance or accounting and looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work in collaborate team that is afforded opportunities to work on the most complex of transactions and that builds relationships with some of Australia’s most well-known brands?

As an Associate within Major Client Group, you will assist our Directors with their customers’ financing needs and be responsible for preparing credit submissions and monitoring ongoing performance. Specifically, your role will involve:

  • Preparing credit submissions for both new to bank and existing customers (including applications for new facilities, increases to existing facilities and/or term extensions)
  • Completing covenant monitoring and annual reviews for existing customers
  • Executing deals from start to finish in collaboration with a wider deal team (including the documentation of facilities via external legal in most instances)
  • Analysing a customer’s performance and position and forecasting future results
  • Assessing the risks/opportunities on a transaction and undertaking downside/sensitivity analysis
  • Researching and analysing industry specific information
  • Working closely with other stakeholders within the business (including product specialists, Risk, Corporate Acquisition, Corporate Finance, Asset Finance, Global Markets) to meet customer requests/needs

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Prior experience in a similar role (as an Analyst, Assistant Manager, Associate, Senior Associate or Credit Manager) writing credit submissions, undertaking covenant monitoring and/or annual reviews. Alternatively, you may have several years’ prior experience within the accounting industry in role with at least some transferrable skills. 
  • Prior exposure to a diversified portfolio of customers, cash flow lending and/or debt levels of at least $30m will be highly regarded as will experience dealing with complex lending structures and/or complex organisational structures.  
  • A strong understanding of financial statements and how to analyse them. Any financial modelling experience will also be highly regarded.   
  • Customer service experience ideally in a commercial or business banking environment.
  • Experience documenting facilities via external lawyers.
  • A proactive attitude and a general willingness to learn.  
  • Great stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and/or Commerce

Skills Required
