A career level contributor responsible for providing technical solutions to exceptionally difficult problems. As the third level of support, this position will address day-to-day customer issues, application issues, problems and concerns that are of a more detailed nature requiring analysis and research.

Who We're Looking For:

A career level contributor having 6 to 9 years of experience, responsible for providing Linux/Unix System administrator . As the 2nd level of support for taking care of Linux, VMware and HW maintenance support for Global System Administration team, this position will address day-to-day System administration activities like OS installation, OS updates, VMware Administration and analysing Hardware issues and working with Vendor for replacing faulty parts etc…

Technical skill:

Linux Administration, taking care of OS installation and configuration of RHEL7, RHEL8 and if RHEL9 added advantage. And legacy OS RHEL5, RHEL6 are added advantage.

Regular OS patching activities.

OS installation with satellite management

Kickstart installation and understanding of OS repositories

Repository management on the client side.

Regular OS patching procedures

VMware Administration, level 2 support on VMware administrator and support for the vSphere, ESXi installation and configuration VMware configurations, mainly support on issues

Level 2 support on Solaris and AIX servers is added advantage

Basic Linus system boot process Filesystem Management LVM, ZFS etc… Storage on OS level, disk configuration and Mount management NFS client servers’ administration and troubleshooting issues System network configuration, understanding and troubleshooting the issues. System logs management and log file management. DNS client management, DNS server and tools understanding is added advantage. NTP and SMTP client configuration and understanding the protocols and service configurations Understanding network protocols HTTP, HTTPS, and Customer services… A good understanding of Application management Good Knowledge on Dell PowerEdge servers, Dell Blade Chassis, HP ProLiant, IBM, and Oracle Solaris servers. Firmware Update on the servers and Console management iDRAC, ILO etc… Troubleshooting HW issues and co-ordinating with Vendor support.

Added skills:

Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Salt-stack and Puppet etc… Dockers, containers, and Kubernetes etc… Understanding shell scripting bash and Perl scripting are added advantages.

Day-to-Day Roles and Responsibilities:

As system admin taking care of Global System administration activities Monitoring support queues and owning the Service Requests and Incidents and troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Taking care of Hardware Support working with Vendor to resolve fix the HW issues. Monitoring the HW are issue on the Monitoring tools and Auto-generated Service request on portals. Scheduling Maintenance Windows and coordinating with stakeholders. Support On-call duties follow the sun module. Processing Change Requests Managing SLA/SLO on the Service Request(SRs) Escalating the issues when needed to Level 3 /SME support. Support LAB systems and installing tools and providing configuration support. Working with different teams for the support etc….

Required Certifications are:

A must RHEL Certified System Administration ITIL certified system administrator VMware Certification

AWS, Azure certification are added advantage
