SailPoint is seeking a Backend QA Software Engineer to help test and automate a new cloud-based SaaS identity product. We are looking for well-rounded backend or full stack engineers who are passionate about testing reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.
Responsibilities• Test different modules with Automation/Manual testing as required.• Developing Automation using different frameworks for different modules.• Produce test plan and rough estimates, and test features based on product requirements.• Collaborate with peers for grooming, testing.• Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.• Contribute to training, onboarding of new resources.• Give Product demos to customers/internal stakeholders.• Contribute to resolving customer queries/escalations.• Creating new Environment as required.
Requirements• Must have Strong 3+ years of experience in building Java based frameworks.• Experience range 4 - 7 years.• Should have experience with Restful API testing and Microservices• Should have in depth knowledge of TestNG, Gradle and Jenkins.• Should have automation experience handling automation frameworks, backend API and UI automation.• Should have knowledge and testing experience with Amazon AWS (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch etc).• Good to have experience with logging/Metrics tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus etc.• Good to know the Docker and its deployment along with containers spin up, grid, scaling etc.• Should have strong analytical skills, attention to details and excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills to address complex technical problems• Team player with strong communications skills, excellent organizational and planning skills, ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.• Good to have experience working with JIRA for Agile Development, Defect Management and Test Case Management.
Preferred• Experience with testing SaaS Products.• Using testNG framework, qtest, selenium, postman, soapUI, K6, JMeter• Experience with ServiceNow• Experience with Continuous Delivery• Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics
What success looks like in the role
Within the first 30 days you will:• Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technology, proactively meet peers and stakeholders, set up your test environment.• Seek to deeply understand business problems or common engineering challenges and produce test plan to test them.
By 90 days:• Proactively test different enhancements, defect fixes by interacting independently with different (sometimes many) stakeholders, architects and members of your team.• Take a committed approach to contributing to different projects testing alongside less experienced engineers on your team-there's no room for ivory towers here.
By 6 months:• Collaborates with Product Management and Engineering Lead to estimate and test small to medium complexity features more independently.• Occasionally serve as an analysis expert during escalations of systems issues that have evaded the ability of less experienced engineers to solve in a timely manner.• Share support of critical team systems by participating in calls with customers, learning the characteristics of currently running systems, and participating in improvements.
