The Opportunity: 

As an Associate Key Account Manager, you will be part of the Core Europe Commercial Team, taking full ownership of an assigned customer portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Director Sales, you will work within the international Value Channel team and be part of the Value Channel leadership team. Within this team you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Brand Management, Trade Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.  

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day relationship and commercial performance of your assigned retail accounts 
  • Develop and execute customer-specific joint business plans to unlock growth opportunities by understanding customer needs and analyzing business performance through sell-in/sell-out data, Circana market insights, and KPI tracking 
  • Drive brand visibility and commercial success by developing compelling promotional offers and executing impactful brand activation plans across both in-store and online channels 
  • Partner closely with retail customers and internal stakeholders to plan, optimize, and execute promotions and marketing initiatives, particularly in collaboration with Brand Management and Trade Marketing 
  • Manage the customer product portfolio, including Sales forecasting, promo planning, and close coordination with Supply Chain to ensure product availability 
  • Develop pricing strategies in collaboration with Finance and lead pricing discussions and negotiations with retail customers 
  • Prepare and conduct customer meetings, business reviews, and presentations, including regular customer visits and participation in key industry events such as the Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg 
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve business performance, strengthen customer partnerships, and drive profitable growth

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience in Sales, Key Account Management, Business Planning, or a commercial function is an advantage 
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trusted partnerships with customers and internal stakeholders 
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and a passion for working with data to drive business decisions 
  • Customer-centric and brand-focused approach with the ability to balance commercial priorities and consumer needs 
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment 
  • Business fluent in Italian and English are requested, Spanish and/or French are a plus 
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Curious, enthusiastic, and excited to work with a diverse portfolio of our leading Mattel brands

  • Gross annual salary range of EUR 60,000 - EUR 71,250
  • Bonus scheme: Participation in Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) with the target of 20% of base salary, payout is determined by company and individual performance results
