The Opportunity

As we expand our innovative wealth platform, we’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused Associate to join PICTON Investment Counsel. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Investment Counsellors to support day-to-day operations, ensure best-in-class client service, and contribute to the seamless execution of portfolio administration.

The expected base salary for this role is $60,000 – $70,000, with the final number depending on your experience, skills, and education. Additionally, you’ll be eligible for our discretionary bonus program.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn and lead:

Client Service

  • Manage end-to-end client onboarding, documentation, and account setup.
  • Support Investment Counsellors in preparing for meetings, proposals, and reviews.
  • Attend client meetings as required and maintain detailed records and meeting notes.
  • Address client inquiries with urgency and professionalism.
  • Produce recurring and ad-hoc client reports.
  • Contribute ideas to improve the overall client experience and drive service excellence.

Portfolio Administration

  • Reconcile daily prices, positions, and transactions across trading and custodial platforms.
  • Support account activity including openings, deposits, withdrawals, and asset transfers.
  • Assist with monitoring and rebalancing client portfolios; ensure timely and accurate trade execution.
  • Maintain security master data and review corporate actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize workflows and enhance operational processes.

Compliance

  • Coordinate with Compliance to ensure timely review and approval of account documentation.
  • Ensure all activities align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records.
  • Monitor potential risks and escalate issues as appropriate. 

What You Bring

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally in investment or wealth management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; VBA skills are an asset.
  • Familiarity with wealth management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and a passion for delivering exceptional service. 
  • Fluency in French is an asset (but not mandatory)
