OMERS Infrastructure is currently seeking an energetic Associate to join its investment team in Toronto. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and support all aspects of the investment process, including origination, execution and value creation / investment management.

An associate on our team will provide support in building and executing the OMERS Infrastructure strategy by: 

•    Assisting in evaluating investment opportunities across infrastructure sectors

•    Building and critically reviewing financial models; assessing the integrity of the model and the financial returns of potential investment opportunities

•    Conducting due diligence by evaluating information provided by sellers, company management and professional advisors and incorporating the relevant information into OMERS Infrastructure's investment analysis

•    Synthesizing key findings from research, financial analysis and meetings with diligence advisors into investment presentations and participating in presenting these findings to investment committees 

•    Assisting with investment management responsibilities by monitoring and impacting investment performance and contributing to the strategic, financial and operating direction of portfolio companies, including assisting with debt financings, follow-on acquisitions, and divestiture analysis 

•    Researching prospective industries to develop industry theses and assisting in generating investment ideas for OMERS Infrastructure 

•    Supporting the team while fostering a dynamic and team-oriented working culture

Position Qualifications:

•    At least 3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or a similar field

•    Strong research, financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills

•    Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to being a team player

•    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

•    Intellectual curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and a thoughtful, diligent and proactive approach to gathering information

•    An appreciation for sustainability in the investment decision making process

•    Experience in or knowledge of infrastructure sectors is considered a plus, but not required
