About the Role
If you're an early-career attorney who loves contracts, negotiations, and solving real business problems, this is an opportunity to take what you've learned in private practice and put it to work inside a growing healthcare technology company.
You'll work directly with our COO/General Counsel and leaders across ALIS, getting a front-row seat to how a technology business actually operates. You'll help negotiate commercial agreements, support transactions, navigate new business opportunities, manage risk, and solve the everyday legal challenges that come with building and growing a company. You'll see the impact of your advice, learn how decisions get made, and develop the practical business judgment that is difficult to gain from the outside.

The Basics
Location: Chicago-based.
Schedule: Fully remote work is not available, but flexible or hybrid schedules may be available based on performance milestones. Please note that this role is expected to work on-site for the first 90 days of their employment.
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000
Bar Admission: Licensed attorney in good standing. Illinois admission or eligibility for admission in Illinois preferred.

What You'll Be Doing
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, employment agreements, and partnership arrangements
Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand priorities, identify risks, and move agreements to completion
Balance legal protection with practical business outcomes
Improve contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and approval processes
Identify opportunities to reduce friction and accelerate routine legal work
Support corporate transactions and related legal workstreams
Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and compliance initiatives
Serve as a day-to-day legal resource for teams across ALIS
Help stakeholders understand risks, tradeoffs, and practical paths forward
Build strong working relationships that make Legal a trusted partner rather than a final checkpoint
Participate in special projects as business needs evolve
Coordinate and collaborate with outside counsel/law firms on specialized projects and initiatives
You'll Thrive in This Role If You
Have 2-3 years of corporate legal experience at a law firm.
