Job Description
Provide a full range of accounting and administration services to clients. This includes:
- Prepare all client deliverables such as NAV, financial statements and associated reports
- Liaise with investment managers, brokers and auditors for day-to-day operational issues
- Work with internal teams, such as IO, finance, regulatory reporting and banking etc. to ensure all internal and external deliverables are met
- Participate in various system improvement initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Accurately process transactions in our accounting system as required, understanding their impact on the NAV of the fund.
- Prepare Net Asset Value packages and all supporting scheduled to be reviewed by senior members of the team.
- Process payment of fund expenses in applicable banking system
- Assist in the audit process and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure all deliverables and client queries are met as stipulated in the SLA
- Ensure all processes are performed in accordance with operational controls as stipulated in SOC1 and all relevant checklists are completed.
- If applicable, For FoHF clients, perform the custody process, includes completing subscription and redemption documents, initiating payments, and monitoring the trade process
- If applicable, for PE clients, perform the capital call and distribution processes, includes preparing allocation schedules, issue notices, initiating payments and monitoring the money movements
- Ensure all fees are billed on time and collected in a timely manner
- Any other ad-hoc tasks as require
Education Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance or accounting preferred but not essential.
Work Experience
- Experience working in the fund administration industry or finance profession would be preferred but not required. This can include other administrators, investment managers or fund auditors.
- Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA (or equivalent)) an asset but not required.
Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is particularly an asset.
- Experience with fund accounting software Geneva, Investran or Yardi would be beneficial but not necessary.
- Have a working knowledge of Bloomberg (or similar market indices software) would be beneficial but not necessary.
