As an Associate on the Financial Planning & Communications team, you will play a critical role in supporting the team’s financial analysis, reporting, and investor relations activities. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including data analysis, financial modeling, report preparation, and strategic communication. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to complex financial issues and develop your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.  This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis.

Financial Planning & Communications is a highly influential team that serves as a key interface between our Finance organization and our investors and board. This team acts as a dot connector, fostering strong partnerships across various departments within the company to drive cohesive strategic initiatives. The team interacts regularly with a highly sophisticated board and helps shape our corporate strategy. The team is also responsible for all outbound finance communications with investors, finance materials used in monthly management meetings, and quarterly investor and board reporting.

What You Will Do:

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, focusing on sources of earnings, and provide insightful analysis.
  • Conduct competitive research, including analysis of market trends, peer performance, and industry developments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations and other materials for senior management and external stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Modeling:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze financial data.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future performance.
  • Use data visualization tools to create insightful reports and dashboards.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and procedures.
  • Implement new tools and technologies to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Team Development:

  • Support the development of the team’s long-term strategy and drive development of long-term growth plans and goals

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of financial service experience, preferably from a consulting, banking, or equity/rating agency analyst background.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting reporting systems is preferred.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.  

Base Salary Range

$95,000$120,000 USD
