Job Description:

Blake Willson Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Analyst to support data-driven operational insights, financial reporting, and contract management activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-centric environment and enjoys transforming complex information into clear, actionable insights. While the focus of this position is on data analytics, visualization, and system research, you will also apply foundational financial analysis skills to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality support for contract and funding activities. In this position, you will also collaborate with cross-functional technical and financial teams to improve data quality, streamline reporting processes, and enhance organizational decision-making. In this position, your job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets across financial and operational systems to support metrics, dashboards, and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and automated reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel.
  • Perform data reconciliation and quality assurance checks to ensure accurate uploads, system integrations, and end-to-end data integrity.
  • Conduct data and financial system research to resolve discrepancies, interpret trends, and troubleshoot unknown or errored invoice accounts.
  • Support ongoing improvements to data pipelines, reporting templates, and analytical workflows.
  • Present data insights, performance trends, and operational metrics to stakeholders in a clear and structured format.
  • Maintain invoicing records, funding documentation, and contract tracking measures while leveraging analytics to identify anomalies or risks.
  • Perform internal and agency audits on contract usage and funding to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and data-driven process enhancements.
  • Assist with funding modifications, financial research, accounts payable/receivable inquiries, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Support new team member training by demonstrating analytical tools, reporting procedures, and data validation techniques.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and partner with team leaders to test, refine, and implement efficiencies that increase data quality and reduce manual work.
  • Contribute to process automation initiatives, particularly those focused on data transformation, workflow optimization, and error reduction.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience performing data analysis or financial analysis with demonstrated ability to interpret, validate, and report on complex datasets.
  • 2 years of experience working directly with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and business analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of federal financial regulations, government contracting processes, and financial management systems.
  • Experience with process improvement, automation, and workflow optimization.
  • Experience with SharePoint, data visualization, and building automated reporting solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • A Lean Six Sigma or an Agile SAFe certification is desired.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
