The Role
The Associate Financial Analyst (AFA) role will be a key contributor in the Institutional Wealth Management Services Platform and Technology (IWMS P&T) Finance team. This role will focus on supporting both FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) and Decision Support finance leads. The AFA responsibilities include, but are not limited to, producing the monthly P&L statement, accruals, financial package, monthly and quarterly financial data and content for our central finance team, the annual budget and multi-year planning processes and ad hoc impactful and insightful financial reviews.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- 1 year of experience in financial modeling and analysis a plus
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with advanced excel formulas, Power BI and Anaplan a plus
- Understanding of accounting, financial and business concepts
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity with ability to learn new concepts quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to take initiative and seek creative solutions that challenge conventional approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to envision the 'big picture' while maintaining close attention to detail
- Displays confidence in explaining, defending and/or challenging analytical findings
The Value You Deliver
- Prepare month-end reporting with detailed variance analysis to previous periods, budget, and forecast
- Provide insight into key scorecard metrics and trends
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis, reports, and presentation materials in support of senior management
- Prepare executive level presentations that bring out insights clearly and concisely
- Ensure proper controls, documentation and reviews are in place to alleviate risks
The Team
IWMS P&T Finance is a key group under the Funds and Brokerage Operations and Technology (FBOT) organization. We provide financial support to central finance, the IWMS P&T senior leadership team, accounting, and our finance partners across the firm. We are focused on P&L forecasting, workforce capacity planning, strategic support for CIO, financial reporting, and ad hoc analysis. In supporting these critical parts of the business, the team has broad exposure to and influence on business decisions and processes.
The base salary range for this position is $47,000-$74,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
