Associate, FGS Prospero
Position Overview
FGS Global is seeking a fully bilingual entry-level communications and media specialist to join the FGS Prospero team, which is part of the firm’s Strategic Communications practice. FGS Prospero client projects range from public policy and advocacy to environmental justice and entertainment. This is a great position for a proactive self-starter interested in a fast-paced work environment that advances issues broadly impacting U.S. Latino stakeholders. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and follows a hybrid schedule with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and logistical support for account teams, including preparation for meetings and presentations, and execution of key tasks
- Monitor traditional and social media and provide updates to account teams and clients, including specific and relevant callouts and development of routine and ad hoc reports.
- Conduct thorough research on industry- and company-specific information and relevant issues by distilling and synthesizing findings in a concise well-written, well-produced format for either existing clients or new business opportunities
- Draft and develop bilingual (English > Spanish) deliverables and written materials to support client and internal needs
- Support and learn to build Spanish language and Latino media or other stakeholder relations (e.g., identifies relevant media/stakeholder targets; develops and maintains lists)
- Complete tasks within project scope; ability to meet deadlines
- Exhibit basic understanding of key client information and strong ability to stay on top of client news and developments
- Assist in proposal development as requested
- Participate in activities and assignments that support internal firm operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing, Spanish, International Relations, or Political Science) plus relevant internship experience
- Resourceful, collegial, attentive, and teamwork-oriented attitude
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong writing and research skills
- Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Adaptability and the ability to contribute to multiple projects at once
- Strong propensity to think multiple steps ahead and anticipate needs and challenges
- Ability to exercise intense discretion and confidentiality in a professional manner both within the firm and among clients
- Propensity toward linguistic and cultural sensitivity
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Present and conduct yourself professionally on and offline with teammates, clients, members of the press, stakeholders, vendors, and other external parties

At the time of this posting, the base salary for this entry-level Washington, D.C.-based position is $60,000 USD.
District of Columbia Salary Range
$60,000—$60,000 USD
