Job Summary:
Mizuho U.S. Operations is seeking an ambitious junior professional to join our Enterprise Risk Management Governance and Reporting team. This role involves assisting in the development of Risk Management committee material presented to senior management, contributing to the Risk Appetite process, and support of the firm’s Risk Management Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and maintaining Risk Management Committee (RMC) materials.
Coordinate with internal teams to gather inputs and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
Prepare, validate, and distribute risk reports for senior management, committees, and regulators.
Support the annual Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) process, including tracking submissions and compiling materials.
Respond to audit and regulatory requests by compiling and validating supporting documentation.
Maintain reporting calendars and ensure adherence to production timelines.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in a bank or financial institution.
Exposure to management or regulatory reporting.
Basic understanding of financial products (e.g., equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives) and risk concepts.
Technical skills (e.g., Excel, Power BI, data visualization, or basic coding) are a plus.
Comfortable working across functions and engaging with stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with a focus on data quality and issue resolution.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High integrity and accountability in handling sensitive information.
Adaptable and eager to learn in a dynamic risk environment.
The expected base salary ranges from $95,000 - $115,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
