Job Description:
About the Role:
As an Associate Engineer, you will be a key player in shaping a supportive and engaging work environment for our Northlake, TX, plant, a manufacturer of quality coffee. Your role will act as a support partner in efforts to maintain the TreeHouse Management Operating Structure (TMOS). This role facilitates projects to evaluate and improve supply chain processes and related functions using continuous improvement principles. Responsibilities include coordinating initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, cost, and operations, as well as supporting the implementation of corrective actions and driving alignment with corporate continuous improvement strategies.
You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Support site performance metrics and process effectiveness initiatives.
- Assist with gap analyses and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with TMOS and divisional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage a portfolio of projects reviewing moderate to large-scale supply chain processes to ensure operational efficiency.
- Promote best practices and support replication of process improvements across the site.
- Collaborate with site leadership to develop project charters, including defining scope, resources, team roles, and deliverables.
- Act as a culture change agent by modeling leadership behaviors and advocating for CI tools within TMOS.
- Facilitate project meetings to track progress, resolve obstacles, and review recommendations and outcomes.
- Assist process owners in implementing new procedures, identifying improvements, tracking savings, and generating reports for approval.
- Provide training and coaching on basic continuous improvement methods and tools to build site-level self-sufficiency.
- Other assigned duties.
Important Details:
- This is a full-time, on-site role on First Shift, Monday through Friday. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
You’ll fit right in if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Management or related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least one year in a project management or continuous improvement role is required.
- Strong situational leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the plant organization.
- Self-starter with the ability to lead change independently and make informed, strategic decisions.
- Possesses key personal attributes: progressive mindset, adaptability, flexibility, high energy, maturity, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to assess needs, identify issues, and uncover improvement opportunities.
- Develops subject matter expertise in site-level supply chain processes and leads the evolution toward future-state operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively represent and report on continuous improvement activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
