Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Associate/Industrial Engineer Level 1/2 to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management (IEOM) organization. This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Saint Augustine, FL. The position requires on-site support located in St Augustine, FL, and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.
The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Saint Augustine. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include:
- Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
- Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
- Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
- Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
- Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
- Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers
- Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies
- Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
- Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
- Developing infrastructure and planning for aircraft assembly line stand-up.

This requisition may be filled as an Associate Industrial Engineer Level 1or Industrial Engineer Level 2 depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications
Associate Industrial Engineer Level 1:
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree with 0 or more years of experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables or data visualization software applications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance and special program access in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Industrial Engineer Level 2:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 1 or more years of related technical, engineering experience and/or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM and 0 or more years of related technical, engineering experience and/or data analysis experience.
- Experience in Microsoft Office excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables and/or data visualization software applications.
- Ability to obtain/maintain US Government Secret security clearance and Special Access Program within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Government Clearance
- STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical).
- Defense Industry Experience.
- MRP/MES experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.
- Experience with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages.
- Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods.
- Experience in aircraft assembly line stand-up.
- Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations.
- Experience with agile methods of project management or development.
- Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau/Power BI in a professional work environment.
- Experience in production/program scheduling.
Skills Required
