What's the role?
Read & comprehend various technical drawings of the process & facilities like Civil underground drawings, cable trenches, P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram), Isometrics, General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Sketch, and other mechanical, piping, instrumentation & electrical related drawings. Understand and interpret the corrections & redline mark ups (RLMU) done in the drawings. Preparation & Checking of all 2D updated drawings executed by peer designers. Review of vendor drawings including control system wiring and panel drawings all other interfaces for design deliverables. Preparation and checking of mechanical packages C&I design documents. Knowledge of MicroStation V8 and AutoCAD are a must and candidate with ArGIS is an added advantage.
Dimensions:
The role is expected to be the expert in drafting of red line markup (RLMU) updating of Civil underground drawings using MicroStation and support the transition to ArGIS tool, basic knowledge in other discipline technical drawings and closely engage with OU in updating & suggest improvement solutions on enhancing the overall quality of work.
What do we need from you?
Requirements / Key Responsibilities:
- Support the transition of the civil underground data / details / drawing in to MicroStation V8 and further to the ArGIS system.
- Utilize MicroStation and ArcGIS software for underground mapping, and visualization.
- Skillful to understand site assessments and surveys to translate to CAD or geospatial data.
- Collaborate with site teams to integrate CAD/GIS data into civil engineering projects where applicable.
- Prepare detailed maps, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Perform spatial analysis to support planning, design, and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all GIS-related tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD and other engineering software.
- Experience with ArcGIS and other CAD/GIS software is added advantage.
- Being able to read civil drawings (piling, foundations, drainage) to extract the information the draftsman needs for his work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Having a general understanding of civil underground infrastructure (drainage, foundations, piling, geology,) including related details e.g. Manholes, transition pieces.
- Having a general understanding of other underground infrastructure (E/I cabling, pipelines,) including related details e.g. Cathodic protection, earthing rod.
- Based on the above being able to recognize components on a land surveying sketch.
- Being able to work with different layers/line styles to represent certain themes.
- Having a practical feel for the execution of excavations. Translating 3D into 2D and understanding what impact the excavation activities can have on e.g. shallow foundations and infrastructures.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities for the area of responsibility.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Professional / Engineering in Civil/ Mechanical (Any related Engineering Discipline)
Preferred other skills:
- 3D GIS: ArcGIS capabilities for 3D visualization and analysis.

- Shift work following operating hours Monday to Friday 3PM – 12MN PH Time
- Virtual working with key stakeholders for day-to-day operations
- Effective initiative to identify and help resolve business and technical issues within areas of responsibility.
- A self-starter and reliable deliverer, with good verbal and written skills in English.
- Exposes the individual to all cultural backgrounds and organizational levels across the globe, across diverse time zones.
- The role primarily involves the remote support to the downstream operating units/sites in the drawing management & updates.
