Job Description:
The Engineer, Control Systems Simulation is primarily responsible for supporting product design, development, product performance/fuel economy/durability improvement, design robustness and reducing reliance on physical testing. This role will work on diverse projects and independently determine and develop approaches and solutions. The Engineer, Control Systems Simulation will be required to provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to a fielded product.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and document Plant Modelling for Model-In-Loop (MIL), Software-In-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-In-Loop (HIL)
- Work with/in cross-functional engineering teams of Systems, Algorithm, Calibration and Validation engineers to develop existing and new simulation products and functionality
- Perform functional and unit testing, system validation, and testing of plant model updates
- Implement plant model updates to meet functional requirements
- Describe & present work results to peers and managers as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Required Education:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
Required Experience:
- Interest in vehicle and powertrain simulation
- Programming experience in Microsoft Visual Studio C/C++
- Vehicle communication protocol development experience – CAN/J1939, PTCAN, GMLAN, UDS, OBD2, etc.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in MATLAB/Simulink system modelling software
- Experience in transmission/powertrain/vehicle system modelling
- Experience with HIL and/or SIL simulation methods
- Experience with Veristand and LabView
- Experience with GitHub for software version control & change management
