The team
Our team brings deep knowledge across both mature and emerging renewable energy markets and technologies. The team plays a critical role in supporting CIP throughout the full lifecycle of renewable energy investments. This includes providing strategic insights and analytics during key transaction processes and facilitating the commercial offtake and risk exposure of the Funds and their projects. Our work ensures that energy market dynamics are fully integrated into investment decisions, helping to optimize value and manage risk across the portfolio.
The role
Reporting to the Energy Market Intelligence & Data Analytics Manager for CIP within our Energy Management team, you will play a key role in building, maintaining, and evolving data analytics solutions. Your work will ensure that CIP have the market intelligence and insights needed to uphold our leadership in the renewable energy sector.
Based in Copenhagen, you will assist the Energy Management team comprising professionals across Europe and CIP's APAC and American markets, focused on delivering cutting-edge market intelligence, data analytics, and energy pricing skills.
In this role, you will take ownership of several critical data products that are essential to our continued growth, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders across CIP. Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:
- Energy Market Analytics: Collaborate with the structuring and pricing team to design and enhance analytical tools that leverage market data to support investment strategies and optimize energy revenue streams.
- Product Ownership: Manage the development and ongoing management of the Market Data Portal, including Power BI data flows and reporting capabilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure our analytics products are well understood, adopted, and aligned with business needs
- Training & Enablement: Execute the rollout and continuous improvement of energy market intelligence tools by delivering internal workshops and creating user-friendly guides and training material.
- Vendor Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with market data vendors to ensure smooth deployment and technical alignment of external data services.
Main Interfaces / stakeholders:
- Market Data Vendors & Forecasting Agencies
Assist with vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and ensure timely delivery of critical data products. Stay informed on market offerings by participating in vendor webinars and industry conferences - Structuring & Pricing (S&P) Team
Collaborate closely to develop and refine analytical tools that support pricing strategies and optimize investment decisions - Investment, Origination & Investor Relations (IR) Teams
Act as a key data partner by delivering insights through tools like the Chartbook, Spot Database, and Market Data Library. Respond to ad-hoc requests and support strategic decision-making via the Markets Mailbox - Finance, FP&A, and Valuation Committees
Provide accurate long-term forecasts, manage vendor assumptions, and ensure consistency in data used for financial modelling and investor reporting.
You
You come with 1–3 years of experience in energy markets, data analysis, or financial modelling, supported by a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, economics, finance, energy systems, or a related field. Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your workload effectively are essential.
The role involves stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, so comfort in these areas is key. Familiarity with Bloomberg, Power BI, and Excel-based modelling tools is highly desirable.
