We’re looking for a proactive, commercially minded and people‑focused Associate Employment Solicitor to join our growing Employment & Law practice at Omny Law. You’ll work closely with our Senior Employment Lawyers to support an expanding and varied client base, advising businesses on the full spectrum of employment law issues and helping them navigate complex workplace challenges with confidence.
This role is ideal for an all‑rounder employment lawyer who enjoys client contact, variety, and the opportunity to develop their practice within a supportive, forward‑thinking law firm. You’ll have real responsibility, exposure to high‑quality work, and the chance to contribute to the continued growth of the team.
We are not like traditional law firms, and you will enjoy the benefits of being part of a much larger corporate group, but we are committed to high standards of work and are Chambers and Legal 500 listed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage your own caseload, acting as the lead contact for multiple clients
- Provide day‑to‑day employment law advice to managers, HR teams, and senior stakeholders
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and workplace documentation
- Advise on disciplinary, grievance, and investigation matters
- Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence and advisory input
- Advise on business immigration matters, including sponsorship licences for employers
- Handle employee‑related data protection and GDPR queries
- Conduct negotiations and draft settlement agreements
- Run tribunal claims at all stages and conduct related advocacy
- Support Senior Employment Lawyers on more complex matters as required
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development activity, including attending events
- Provide guidance and informal supervision to junior team members where appropriate
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong, well‑rounded experience across employment law matters
- Confidence managing files and client relationships with appropriate autonomy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A practical, commercial and solutions‑focused approach
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Comfort working collaboratively within a growing team
- Ideally able to attend the Tunbridge Wells office one to two day per week
In return we are offering:
- 25 days’ holiday (increasing by 1 day from year 3, up to a maximum of 30 days) plus bank holidays
- Birthday day off
- Monday to Friday (9:00am – 5:30pm)
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Life cover from commencement of employment
- Workplace pension scheme (auto‑enrolment after 3 months)
- Private medical cover for the employee (after successful probationary period)
- EV scheme (after 12 months’ service, subject to eligibility criteria)
- The opportunity to work within a people‑centric, values‑driven consultancy focused on doing things differently
