Play your part in our team succeeding

Our LEGO Design Organization consists of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative culture. No two projects are the same, and they all require different needs and expertise.

Element Design is a key department in the development of new LEGO bricks (building bricks, animals, wigs, etc), playing a pivotal role in the intersection of design for aesthetics, design for play and design for manufacturing. Here, success is always a team sport, bridging the projects shaping our different play experiences with our outstanding engineering and manufacturing teams.

This department is delivering tangible innovation in the form of new elements, and we are responsible for designing more than 350 new LEGO® bricks for our portfolio each year!

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate holds an educational background on Fine Arts/Product Design or on a relevant subject area and has some experience with product design and design processes. In addition, we are looking for the ideal candidate to be familiar with 3D software, willing to learn advanced sculpting / hard edge tools (Z-brush/Geomagic freeform/Rhino etc.) and to have a focus or passion on both Organic sculpting and Hard edge.

Passionate about toy design and aesthetics from a child’s perspective, sketching and/or physical hand modelling, 2D illustration and character/creature design skills, and understanding of Injection Molding processes, are all desirables, but not required.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across functional areas
  • Good analytic and system thinking skills
  • Ability to organize work and communicate progress effectively
  • A proactive attitude and flexibility to adapt to changes/alternative scenarios
  • Capacity to contribute to a team setting within a corporate environment
  • A curious mentality to challenge processes/ways of working
  • Eagerness to learn about manufacturing processes
  • Advanced English language skills, both oral & written
