Job Description:
The Associate Director, V&A Analytics is responsible for leading the Value & Access (V&A) analytics strategy and execution roadmap to support our North American Oncology, Neuroscience and Rare Disease therapeutic areas and business needs. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Insights & Analytics, this role partners closely with V&A, including data strategy & operations, Payer, Trade Distribution, contracting and pricing teams to deliver integrated analytics & drive competitive advantage and data-driven decision-making process.
This role is a critical contributor to the organization, acting as a subject matter expert to set best practice(s) methodology in V&A analytics and lead vendor teams to provide accurate data and reporting to the V&A organization for decision making. The incumbent will lead and improve the way we utilize channel / 3rd party data and deliver contracting/rebate, sales, payer analytics and insights to Ipsen customers. This role requires a deep understanding of market access data and analytics combined with business acumen and knowledge of the healthcare payer environment.
The ideal candidate must be highly collaborative and customer-oriented with the ability to influence at the strategic level, drive data & analytics capabilities to business priorities, and deliver high quality analytical solutions with agility.
Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
Main Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to develop and maintain key analytics and reporting capabilities for the Value & Access (V&A) organization
- Lead a proactive and systematic approach to capturing and understanding V&A business needs for standard and ad hoc analytics, reporting and insights generation
- Support V&A teams with analytics in contracting and reimbursement processes
- Lead performance / KPI development, governance, and reporting for V&A to enable a thorough understanding of brand opportunities based on a variety of external data sources.
- Collaborate with V&A teams to investigate and explore ad-hoc data investigations for purposes of uncovering and providing key payer, trade, and contracting insights
- Effectively triangulate data sources and collaborate with V&A stakeholders to develop and pressure test assumptions; able to explain assumptions and rationale to key stakeholders
- Perform post-deal and launch analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of contracting strategies and recommend adjustments to maximize performance
- Drive and lead predictive analytics (either internally or through a vendor) to predict contracted account performance (e.g. market share changes due to new entrants, loss of contracted account, etc.) to ensure timely decisions could be made by relevant teams
- Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership through various communication channels
- Oversee key supplier relationships for execution of V&A analytics initiatives including contract and budget management, performance management and ad-hoc issue resolution
Technical Competencies
- Deep understanding of patient level claims, specialty pharmacy and distributor data, formulary and pricing data assets to enable market access insights generation
- Understanding of all aspects of Value & Access functions and the integrated roles of each key sub-functions (Payor, Corporate Accounts, Reimbursement, Pricing, GPO, Trade & Distribution, etc.)
- Hands-on Knowledge of the V&A data, ability to design analytics from scratch to suit business needs
- Familiarity in designing, implementing and using analytical algorithms to support predictive analytics initiatives for V&A function
- Experience in understanding stakeholders needs to create effective dashboards to leverage information and aid decision making
- Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to engage, build and maintain credibility with V&A Leadership and Brand stakeholders
- Ability to lead without reporting authority and to achieve outcomes in a fast-paced, matrixed, complex environment - leading through influence and deep collaboration across the franchise and internal functions
- Ability to lead and manage vendor resources supporting analytics
Knowledge & Experience
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master's or higher degree preferred
Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant experience within pharma/biotech or MedTech
- At least 5 years of commercial business experience, ideally within Market Access data and analytics
- Experience in effectively leading cross functional teams and vendor teams
- 8+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree and 12+ with a Bachelor’s Degree

The annual base salary range for this position is $143,000-$210,000
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program as well as our long-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
