Role Overview
The Associate Director, Sales Enablement represents a strategic leadership role responsible for improving seller performance, accelerating revenue productivity, and enabling frontline teams to execute with confidence. This role leads the Sales Enablement organization and partners closely with Product Marketing, Sales Leadership, Sales Engineering, Revenue Operations, Learning & Development (L&D), and Product Management to transform go-to-market strategy into measurable field execution.
This leader ensures that sellers and managers have the knowledge, skills, coaching, tools, and reinforcement necessary to consistently execute against Verizon Connect’s commercial priorities. Success is measured through improved seller productivity, stronger manager coaching, increased adoption of AI-powered selling capabilities, and measurable improvements in sales effectiveness.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role combines strategic leadership with operational execution to build a modern enablement organization that continuously develops sales talent, scales best practices, and drives field performance. The Associate Director will establish the enablement strategy while leading a team responsible for learning, coaching, seller readiness, and performance enablement across the business.
1. Sales Enablement Strategy & Organizational Leadership
Lead the Sales Enablement Function: Help define and execute the vision, strategy, and operating model for Sales Enablement, ensuring programs align to company priorities and support long-term business growth.
Develop a High-Performing Team: Coach and develop a team of enablement professionals while fostering a culture centered on continuous learning, collaboration, innovation, and measurable business outcomes.
Establish Enablement Governance: Create scalable processes, planning rhythms, and prioritization frameworks that enable consistent execution across multiple sales segments, product lines, and strategic initiatives.
Partner Across the Business: Serve as the primary enablement leader supporting Sales Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales Engineering, Revenue Operations, Learning & Development (L&D), and Product teams to ensure alignment between strategy and execution.
2. Seller Readiness, Learning & Performance
Design Comprehensive Learning Programs: Partner with Learning & Development (L&D) to shape role-based onboarding experiences while designing continuous education, certification programs, and role-based learning journeys that improve seller confidence and long-term performance.
Drive Sales Methodology & Skills Development: Build programs that strengthen consultative selling, discovery, objection handling, value-based selling, executive conversations, negotiation, and other critical selling capabilities.
Create Scalable Reinforcement Strategies: Establish reinforcement mechanisms that move beyond one-time training by leveraging microlearning, coaching activities, digital learning experiences, and ongoing knowledge reinforcement.
Improve Field Execution: Partner with Product Marketing to translate product launches, messaging, competitive insights, and strategic initiatives into practical enablement programs that drive consistent customer conversations.
3. Manager Enablement, Coaching & AI Adoption
Elevate Frontline Manager Effectiveness: Design manager enablement programs that improve coaching quality through structured coaching frameworks, call review processes, one-on-one coaching guides, and performance conversations.
Drive AI-Enabled Selling: Lead the adoption of emerging AI capabilities that enhance seller productivity, including AI coaching, AI-powered role play, digital learning experiences and other emerging AI technologies that improve seller effectiveness.
Foster a Coaching Culture: Establish consistent coaching expectations across the sales organization that reinforce learning, accelerate skill development, and improve overall sales performance.
4. Enablement Operations, Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Establish Performance Metrics: Define and monitor leading indicators that measure learning engagement, coaching activity, seller readiness, AI adoption, and overall enablement impact.
Use Data to Optimize Programs: Leverage business intelligence, seller feedback, Gong insights, sales performance metrics, and program analytics to continuously refine enablement investments and priorities.
Support Organizational Change: Lead the enablement strategy for major business initiatives by ensuring customer-facing teams are prepared to successfully adopt new products, processes, tools, and commercial strategies.
What We’re Looking For
You'll need to have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field; or four or more years of experience.
Leadership Experience: Eight or more years of experience across Sales Enablement, Sales Effectiveness, Sales Leadership, Consulting, or related business functions, including three or more years leading high-performing teams.
Enablement Expertise: Demonstrated success designing and scaling sales enablement strategies that improve seller productivity, coaching, and business performance within complex B2B organizations.
Executive Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, and executive influence skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to build strong partnerships across Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, Revenue Operations, Learning & Development, and executive leadership teams.
Technology & AI Fluency: Experience leveraging modern enablement technologies, including conversation intelligence, sales engagement platforms, learning technologies, AI-powered productivity tools, and digital coaching platforms.
Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with operational execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required by the business (up to 25%).

Conversation Intelligence Expertise: Deep experience with Gong or similar conversation intelligence platforms and their application to sales coaching and organizational performance.
Sales Productivity Platforms: Experience with Gong, Salesloft, Ambition, and other sales productivity, engagement, coaching, or performance management technologies.
Learning & Development Expertise: Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, learning management systems (LMS), and modern digital learning practices.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more.
