NYTech’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Associate Director Pipeline Programs located at the Jonesboro, Arkansas campus.


The Associate Director for Pipeline Programs will develop, organize and coordinate activities to build a strong pipeline for incoming first year medical students to NYITCOM at Arkansas State University. The programs developed will meet prospective student needs; build relationships with key secondary and postsecondary school personnel; work with the COM's faculty and staff to enhance outreach efforts to prospective students, particularly to those in under-represented and economically disadvantaged groups; conduct strategy meetings for calendar and program development; develop, organize, and coordinate a Peer Outreach Mentor Program; attend program meetings; perform recruitment, retention and tracking activities; serve on committees and work groups as requested; refer students to appropriate staff/faculty/program for support; develop working relationships with targeted schools; coordinate with Student Administration and Academic Affairs staff to create a pathway to the pre-matriculation and other support programs; develop outreach activities to local high schools with Peer Outreach Mentors; The ADPP will also serve as part of the Student Administration team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive research in Arkansas and designated surrounding states to assess the needs of under-represented and economically disadvantaged student populations in K-12 and pre-med programs to prepare them for future college and careers.
  • Create, develop and execute on- and off-campus pipeline programs to meet the needs of prospective students, including, but not limited to, workshops, leadership development, tours, professional development, science and math prep courses, cultural events and activities, and support and training on applying to medical school.
  • Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with key individuals, groups and institutions (school district superintendents, school level administrators and faculty, pre-med advisors, BS/DO and Pathway programs coordinators, AACOM representatives, NAAHP/SAAHP representatives) to recruit K-12 and pre-med candidates for the medical school or other STEM professions.
  • Create, implement and maintain an assessment program for the recruitment, retention, and tracking of pipeline program outcomes and participants.
  • Aid/Attend strategic recruitment events to enhance NYITCOM student recruitment efforts and programming. Collaborate with admissions staff to invoke pipeline/pathway conversations with key stakeholders and undergraduate/graduate students
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key NYITCOM staff and faculty.
  • Organize and manage the Outreach Mentor Program and Student Ambassador Education Team, developing outreach and education opportunities for the student doctors, coordinating with the Director of Community Outreach and/or Director of Admissions.
  • Research and identify federal, state and private funding sources for student preparation programs.
  • Train and supervise student assistants and others as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Experience in program development and implementation is. required.
  • Community development and program outreach preferred.
  • Able to initiate, develop and manage multiple projects and programs independently and simultaneously; must be able to work independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; must have ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills; able to play either a leading or supporting role.
  • Must be able to appreciate and understand culturally and internationally diverse student population; knowledge of international educational credentials needed.
  • Proficient in use of all computer programs.
